“While we are in this world, let us . . . repent with our whole hearts
of the evil we have done in the flesh, so that we may be saved by the Lord while we have a chance to repent. For once we have departed this world, we can no longer confess . . . or repent any more.”
-Saint Clement of Rome
Help Wanted.......
The position of Church custodian is available. This is a salaried position. For more information on the work involved and compensation, please contact Greg Cahayla at the church, or Nicholas Kovalycsik. It is desired that the position be filled from our church membership, however, as time goes by, it is becoming more evident that the position may have to be filled by an outside professional cleaning firm. If you are interested, please let us know soon.

The Passaic “O” Club has elected officers for the year 2008. Florence Junda remains as President of our chapter. Bob Czech is Vice-President, Ed Junda is Treasurer and Betty Czech is Secretary.
St. John’s Women’s Club will hold a short meeting the beginning of February to also elect officers. Both clubs will hold a brief service following Divine Liturgy on February 17 to officially install the officers. At noon, the same day, both clubs will commemorate the installations together at a luncheon to be held at Teddy’s Resturant in Clifton. The luncheon is open for all parishioners at a nominal cost. Information can be obtained from Peggy Kovalycsik, Dorothy Fabian, or Florence Junda.
On the Internet ......
On Monday, January 21, 2008, the Preconciliar Commission of the OCA’s 15th All-American Council met at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America. Preconciliar Commission members engaged in a long discussion about the opinion of some in the OCA that this Council will not be worth attending. This sentiment stems from the issue of broken trust in the Church’s leadership.
Since recent events in our church have led to many questions as to transparancy in all of the aspects of church administration and finances, it is important that to voice our concerns concerning the upcoming AAC. In December 2007, an email address was established to receive feedback from OCA members about the upcoming All-American Council. Comments on the 15th All-American Council can be emailed to ideasforaac@oca.org. It is in the best interest of all parishioners to keep abreast of all the events and voice their concerns. All comments e-mailed can be read on the OCA website.
