Gifts for a seminarian family from St. Tikhon’s were successfully collected and delivered. Many thanks go to all our parishioners who, each year, make and buy these wonderful gifts. The joy and love they bring to these families is immeasurable and they deeply appreciate all our efforts. May God grant the family and the donors Many Years!
This Sunday the annual St. Andrews and St. Nicholas combined vespers, held each year by the New Jersey District, is being hosted by the Passaic “O” Club. Chapter members from throughout the district gather to pray together and later socialize in true fellowship. This year, the event is being held in St. John’s and all of our parishioners are invited to attend and join us in prayer and fellowship. A light Lenten meal will follow in the church hall.
The Passaic “O” Club has joined others in donating to the Diocese’s Distinguished Diocesan Benefactors with a donation of $500. The complete list of donators can be found here.
Our church food pantry has been organized by long-time members, Florence and Peter Junda. We miss them both since their move to South Carolina to be near their daughter, Cathy. Helen Baron, member of our chapter, has volunteered to carry on this good work. She has extended her thanks to all who donated to the Thanksgiving drive but reminds everyone that the Christmas drive is now on. To Florence and Peter for their unfailing dedication to the club and to the food pantry for many years, to Helen Baron for answering the call to continue this good work, and to all those who consistently donate and help, May God grant them all Many Years!
On November 12 and 13, the New Jersey District held their 60th Annual District Convention hosted by Holy Cross, Chapter #223, in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Under the able direction of Father John and Mat. Maxine Kassatkin and their committee, the affair was enjoyable, companionable, and very informative. May God grant them both and the Holy Cross “O” Club members Many Years! The picture is the closing fellowship hand clasp.
