Mary Firmender of Nutley peacefully fell asleep in the Lord in her home on September 15, 2011 at the age of 93.  She was a life-long member of St. John’s and deeply committed to her faith.  May, as she was lovingly called by her family, was a devoted parishioner of St. John’s and a member of their Women’s Club.  Her husband, Walter Firmender, predeceased Mary 28 years ago.  Along with her husband, May was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

She is survived by 2 brothers, Charles and Frank Evanina, 2 sisters Helen Dolocheck and Effie Stankovci and a large family of nieces and nephews of which she was very proud.  May was a pleasant, kind hearted woman who always had a smile for everyone.  She will be sorely missed by her family and everyone she knew.  Our deepest sympathy goes to Effie Stankovci and her daughter and son-in-law, Sonia and Chris Finno, members of St. John’s, and May’s entire family.  May her Memory be Eternal!
