The following is a letter from Peter and Florence Junda to our parish:

Dear Father Sophrony and Members of St. John’s Church, O Club and Choir,

“How y’all doin’?”  -  This is how we are addressed here in North Carolina.  And we respond “Bohze moi!”

Thank you so much for the luncheon you provided for us and the gifts from the O Club and the choir.  Our move went smoothly and we are slowly adjusting to our new lives and community environment.

No matter what’s next for us, we will always carry the fond memories that were created by the events and with the people at St. John’s.

Pray for us as we will pray for you all.

Peter and Florence Junda

On September 24, 2011, we said good-bye to long time parishioners, Peter and Florence Junda.  With a cake and our best wishes, we thanked them for all their work on behalf of St. John’s.  They have been vital members of every facet of the church, contributing time and effort for many, many years. There is no doubt that they will be missed! 

They have been involved with the building of our church and hall, Peter has been President of the Board of Trustees, and both Peter and Florence have been vital members of our Passaic “O” Club and the church choir.  Their contributions to our parish and to the Orthodox Church in America are too numerous to list but their work and involvement are seen everywhere in the church. 

Our best wishes go to them both and may God Grant Them Both Many, Many Years!
