September was a busy month! Birthdays are always enhanced on Sundays with cake and candles and singing. Father Maryan and his daughter, Irina, both celebrated their birthdays in September just days apart. Xenia Kary had her first Confession on Sept 19 and looked beautiful in her white dress and flowers in her hair. .Kathy and Greg Cahayla were married at St. John’s 50 years ago and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at a dinner in their honor. These were all pleasant and joyful occasions and wonderful to remember, but September also had a sorrowful event. Barbara Bogart, daughter of Effie Stankovci and sister of Sonia Finno fell asleep in the Lord and it was sad for her family and friends to say good-bye. May her memory be eternal
