Following Divine Liturgy on Forgiveness Sunday, We gathered together in the hall for a Maslanitsa hosted by Fr. Igor and Mat. Anna. On the menu were lovely blini filled with mushrooms, or cabbage, or cheese and some with cherries. Mat. Anna also made her delicious vegetable salad. For dessert, Sonja Finno baked a scrumptious home made carrot birthday cake in honor of Fr. Igor’s birthday. After the Maslanitsa, we all went back into the church for our Forgiveness Vespers to start our Lenten journey together, asking each other for forgiveness. Forgiveness Vespers tells us: “The grace of the Lord has shone forth, the grace which illumines our souls. This is the acceptable time; the time of repentance is here.”
Divine Liturgy 9:30 AM - All Saints Sunday - Father's Day
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matt 6:14-15)
